Why should I consider a My Kitchen Makeover?

Most kitchens that have been built since around 1990 are structurally sound, so the existing cabinetry can be retained.

During this era, kitchens were usually built using Melamine lined MDF internal panels (which have white lining inside), with Meltica or Melamine covered cupboard doors, drawers and external panels (most often in colours that are now well and truly out of date).

Kitchens built during this time usually came with Laminate (e.g. Formica) benchtops that are often heat or water damaged, worn and/or stained, and which are also in colours that are well out of fashion (or just downright ugly!).

Using the My Kitchen Makeover process, we can give your kitchen a much needed upgrade, so that your made-over kitchen will have better quality finishes than a new kitchen, but at around half the price or less (depending on the size of your kitchen).

How is this possible? Simply because it’s so cost effective to retain your existing cabinetry and kitchen layout that you can easily afford much higher quality finishes by having your kitchen made-over instead of buying new.

In other words, you get the upmarket, sofisticated finishes of professionally lacquered doors, drawers and panels, and the durability and style of ROXX Engineered Stone benchtops, for much less than the cost of a starting again and ending up with a new kitchen which is made using the same materials as you already had before (i.e. Meltica/Melamine doors and panels and Laminate/Formica benchtops).

How do I know if my kitchen can be made over?

My Kitchen Makeovers best suit kitchens that have been built after 1990 (i.e. are 20 years old or less). The easiest way to tell the age of your kitchen is by looking at the date on your house plans (if you have them).

Alternatively, just measure the width of your benchtops – if most of the benchtops are 580mm or wider, and the cabinets aren’t made of solid timber, then your kitchen should be suitable for a My Kitchen Makeover.

Another way to tell is if your kitchen cabinetry has white internal linings – if they do then it can usually be made over.

If you’re still unsure, speak to one of our friendly team and we will usually be able to tell you over the phone.

My Kitchen Makeovers are very cost effective!

With a full My Kitchen Makeover only costing an average of $7,000 - $9,000, your kitchen can look and feel brand new again (but with superior finishes), at around half the cost of ripping it out and starting all over again.

The price above includes all three parts of our My Kitchen Makeover (Lacquer, ROXX and Glass Art), but you can order them individually if you like - because some kitchens only require a colour change or new benchtops.

Please note that sometimes the overall price can be higher, if you have a very large kitchen or decide on substantial cabinetry alterations and additions.

The total cost can also be much less – depending on the size of your kitchen and what you’d like made-over.
